thinking about what George Orwell has to say on using old metaphors and i believe Chris picked up on it in the seminar today, old metaphors lose readers because one makes assumptions (i know i do) about content or type of story, when i read an old metaphor as headline etc. especially these days when everyone is always looking for something different and that is why we need to always look for a different angle.

my choice (sorry about the pun) for Orwellian speak today is: Choice is Freedom
